Jazz in the Grass
Friday September 27, 2024, 5:30 - 8:30 PM OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA 5315 Lafayette Road The Urban Renewal Big Band is excited to join with the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA, Arts with a Purpose, the Music Performance Trust Fund and the Phillips Music Guild to present a free concert on the lawn.
This is family-friendly entertainment including the University of Indianapolis Jazz Ensemble and the Urban Renewal Big band, featuring performances by special friends, Cathy Morris and Oliver Nelson Jr. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, or just enjoy walking the grounds, taking in the multiple arts activities. The Urban Renewal Big Band returns to the Jazz Kitchen on November 19, 2024 to kick off the "Big Band Holidays" series. We will present a mix of our unique arrangements of many jazz and R&B standards, as well as a good assortment of holiday-inspired tunes to get into the mood of the season.
